School field trips are in full swing at the museum, with students visiting from across San Diego County and beyond. Last year, the Museum of Making Music hosted more than 8,000 field trip participants, and we anticipate seeing even more this academic year. It takes a dedicated team to coordinate and facilitate these experiences, and our talented group of educators and volunteers make music accessible to every student who walks through our doors.
That team just got a little bigger! We are thrilled to welcome Juliana Van Riper as our newest Museum Educator. Juliana joins Nate Williams in leading our skilled team of facilitators who guide students on musical journeys through the museum. A native of Southern California with a degree in music and a master’s degree in education, Juliana is a teaching artist with a background in theater, dance, and music and a passion for working with students of all ages.
Juliana has already jumped right in, welcoming young visitors and sharing the stories behind our collection. We look forward to the fresh ideas, warmth, and creativity she adds to our education programs. Together, Nate and Juliana bring a wonderful mix of musical expertise and teaching experience to their roles as museum educators, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future of our field trip program under their leadership.
