On this episode we learn about the "Music Together at the Beach" early music education program with Center Director Kendra Cogert.
Music Together is an internationally acclaimed early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age 5. They offer research-based, fun-filled, developmentally appropriate classes to engage families in active music-making, to enhance the development of the basic music skills of singing in tune and keeping a steady beat.
A graduate of California State University Long Beach's Commercial Music Program, Kendra Cogert has performed in the Southern California area from Santa Barbara to San Diego and Palm Springs, as well as at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Amsterdam. She is married to professional bassist and music educator, Barry Cogert, and together they have two young adult children, Max and Julie.
Kendra is passionate about bringing the joy of music making to the lives of young children and their families. Her energy and sincerity are always a hit with the families in her program. As the Director of one of the longest-standing Southern California Music Together® Centers, Kendra is an excellent resource of knowledge and information about the musical development of young children.
