Description

On this live episode of MoMM@Home we interview Daring Greatly, a group whose familial vocals and distinct performances have driven them to local and regional renown.

Daring Greatly—not to be confused with anyone's name in the band, rather an inspiring phrase and motto to live by, meaning 'to dare greatly’—was used in a notable passage from Theodore Roosevelt's "Citizen's In A Republic" speech that he gave in 1910 referred to as "The Man in the Arena.” This inspiring message captured the minds of a few creative multi-generational visionaries that were born in the sunny eastern foothills of Canada's Rocky Mountains.

In 2014, an independent rock group was formed in Calgary, Alberta with 3 distinguished lead vocalists, with father, Dail Croome and his two sons, Patrick and Liam Croome, and their best friend, Brayden Tario, combining their harmony rich rock n' roll with U.S Folk, Americana traditions of the 60's and 70's. Their truthful lyrics, further encompassed by deep and introspective messages pertaining to love, courage, vulnerability and personal freedom are at the forefront of the bands core values to lead a life that serves a purpose greater than ones-self.

They have been steadily growing their own catalog of stunningly soul-full original songs with two full-length albums, Cornerstones (2016) and Works of Art (2017), and their latest, 6-song EP Give Myself to the World (2021). The band has gained plenty of experience touring perpetually over the last 6 years; they have performed over 1,000 shows across the United States, Canada and Mexico, offering various arrangements in performances scaling all the way to coffee-shop, Folk/Americana acoustic sets to full sounding 7-piece Jam/Rock sets, that will fill a large concert hall or theatre (including their opening sets for Bon Jovi, The Doobies Brothers, The Struts and Buckcherry).

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the band has live-streamed over 40 concerts and amassed over 500,000 views across all social platforms and media outlets. When not on tour, the band lives together in San Diego, California. They have amassed a large following around the Northern County beach towns, up through Orange County, and beyond.
